How's your drama?

Going for "the drama," and Do you use "Power Words"?

Go for the drama. What does that mean?
"The three of them stood there, holding three hand made signs, protesting Trump, as a constant stream of all kinds of people flowed by, heading for the rally inside the Oklahoma City convention center yesterday.


Would you keep reading?  

"Two of them are students at Oklahoma City Community College, the other a student at Mid-Del High School. 
I spotted them as I rounded the south side of the building, curious about the types of people and the event. No, I didn't have tickets and intended to hold up my own protest sign, hoping to find others.
"They were the only ones,  there of their own volition. Two were registered Republicans, one wearing a Tea Party shirt. The other was too young to vote."

  1. A word that pulls at the strings of the reader. It draws them in and makes them want to continue further.

  3. A power word is a word that makes a person feel something. The words have depth, they aren't dull or boring.

  4. Power words make the audience feel something by tapping into their emotions (fear, anger, happiness, etc) with certain words. It's powerful storytelling.

  5. I don't see any power words just yet on my blog,but a power word grabs readers attention. It keeps them wanting more as well as makes reading more interesting.

  6. I think emotional words and descriptive words are powerful. Those words make readers feel like they are watching something, not reading. I used some of them to describe how I felt.

  7. Power words grab your attention. I did not use direct words from the list but I did use some similar to the tone of the power word list. I wanted my readers to feel like they were in that moment with me but I also wanted to add some mystery.

  8. Power words make the audience feel something. I didn't have any of these words to begin with but went back and incorporated words such as backlash, empowering and vulnerable.

  9. My writing relies heavily on logic, and lacks emotional appeal. I will try to write from different viewpoints to become a stronger writer. So far, I don't think I have used any of the suggested power words, but I will use them in the future to express my thoughts more accurately and build a stronger connection with readers.

  10. A "power" word is a word that makes the readers want to keep reading your work. They are words that make the readers feel a certain way. I think that I have not used any power words.

  11. Power words help the readers to connect emotionally to my blog. Those Power words can make them care more and continue to read the post even though the topic may not interest them. I don't see any within my blog yet, but they could be used precisely and intentionally to make non techies read into my blog more.
