  1. I gained that for my blog to be successful, I have to make my peers and colleagues aware that I have a blog. So far I haven't even reached the triple digits when it comes to page views and I realized it's because I don't share my blog on my social media outlets nor have I told my friends the specifics of how to find my blog. I know majority of the time I don't share blogs because there's no incentive. I may retweet an article here and there but nothing is regularly retweeted.

  2. I have learned that it is important to let people know about your blog. It is also important to remain relevant and have the facts straight sharing a blog. Asking people to follow me feels a bit awkward because it is like saying "Look at me!" I overall like the suggestions for a work blog by offering some type of incentive so that your employees will follow and help promote the blog.

  3. You have to push and strive for your blog to be known. Keeping your colleagues in the loop is important to help your blog be known and that means you have to give them a push to reblog and share your posts by keeping them interested and updated.

  4. I learned that networking is key. If you scratch your colleagues' back, they'll scratch yours. Even if you view them as competition, and fear sharing their articles will have your readers migrate to them, odds are it's better for both blogs to network together.

  5. I learned that it is okay to ask my friends to share my blog. I have thought in the past that doing so could seem egotistical; but it's not. Lets face it, if they are my friends in the first place then they must care a little bit about what I have to say. I am making it a goal of mine to form an "alliance" with a few of my friends who blog regularly and committing to all re post each others work!

  6. I learned that it is very important to make your blog known. If you have an amazing blog but never told anyone about it, how are you going to get readers? After reading this I thought about the bloggers I follow and realized that all of them are always posting on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and other social media outlets about their newest blog post and because of that they have many dedicated readers! I will definitely start talking about my blog more now!

  7. I learned that networking is critical. Your blog isn't just going to gain viewers with you not saying anything, you have to promote, promote, and do more promoting for your blog. Make sure people see that it is there. I think it also helps when you actually interact with your viewers when they have comments or suggestions.

  8. I learned that in order for your blog to be known you HAVE TO MAKE IT KNOWN. The other night I was actually sitting in my living room and asked one of my roommates if she had read my most recent post. She replied that she didn't even know that I have a blog. Thats when I realized that I need to start letting people know about my blog in order for it to be read more.

  9. I learned that in order for your blog to be successful, it is crucial that you make your blog known to your family, friends and colleagues. If no one knows about your blog, then no one is going to read your blog. You must tell those you know about your blog, and ask them to share your blog and posts whenever they can.

  10. This article reiterated the importance to me of marketing yourself. No one is going to do it for you, unless you've already made it. In the meantime, you have to put your best foot forward and get your name out there.
