  2. I thought it was a good point to write for one person. You don't need to write for every single person in the world, you just need to focus on your primary readers. For me, that would be young adult women or maybe just women in general!

  3. This article made many great points on how to capture an audience in the most simple form. Reading it makes you think about how you're wording your own blog. A headline is the "eye catcher" and without a great headline the readers won" be interested.

  4. I really like this article, it has a lot to offer bloggers. Using "power words" is a good idea to keep readers attention. It is true though some people have the gift of writing and connecting with the reader and some do not

  5. I thought this article was really helpful in the advice given. One thing that stood out to me was keep your thoughts concise because no one likes to read a long winded post. I scroll right past long thoughts on other blogs so I thought that was great advice and something I will apply to my blog.

  7. Though this article seems pretty self-explanatory it made some good points in my mind. Using language that can draw in your readers and make them feel as if they are a part of the post obviously helps to maintain followers.

  9. The magic and persuasive word thing definitely influences me. I am thinking about the recent posts I have read from others and it usually has one of those words in it. I usually think about communicating to multiple people when I blog. After reading this I want to put more focus on communicating to that one person in my next blog.

  10. Headlines are important. I am drawn in by the headline or title. If it does attract my attention then I am going to move on.

  11. I think it's a good idea to use powerful, key words. I'm a sucker for good writing, so I definitely agree that something that is well written and seemingly directed toward me will make me much more likely to read it and follow.

  12. This could affect my blogging skills in some ways. I already know it’s really important to have a good headline but might take a little more time to really think about it. Using persuasive words is also a good way to get your readers intrigued about what you’re talking about. Staying on topic is also really important. You don’t want to veer off in a totally different direction because your readers will stop reading and move on to something else.

  13. When we read blogs we typically are doing it for leisure and relaxing, so we want that simple, yet descriptive writing that helps us to not feel like we are reading a lecture, yet having a conversation.

  14. Compelling headlines get people to read your blog! If you don't have a strong headline, it is unlikely that people will take the time to read your blog. Thoughtful headlines can strengthen your writing overall.

  15. I really like this article because I know there are good blogs out there that don't get the attention they deserve because the proper words were not used for headlines and they don't divide up the sentences well enough. I agree that blog posts should be targeted to specific groups to gain more readers. It helped me because now I know what words are best to use to draw people in to read mine.

  16. Headline are still the most appealing and eye catching way to gain readers. I think I could work on writing more persuasive posts. It would help my readers be more interested and willing to read other things I post. If you can make them believe and act on something they are more willing to trust your opinions and keep reading.

  17. I always liked making my headlines entertaining and fun to read. Now I know that it is important for sparking interest. I'm going to find ways to be more persuasive with my words so I can keep my readers' interest and keep them coming back for more.

  18. This link showed me that using persuasive words can have a big impact on whether people want to read your posts. I learned that by using persuasive words I can grab the readers attention and keep it throughout the post. This will affect my blog by making me want to further persuade my readers to travel to the places I'm writing about.

  19. I think that the biggest thing you can take away from this is that blogs aren't newspapers. You write one like you would talk to your friends and make it easy to read. You don't need to impress anyone with your vocabulary.

  20. Staying update and knowing whats going on around is helpful to your blog because people are constantly searching the net about events and issues that are current. Using catchy headlines that pull the reader are in is important.

  21. This article is very amazing and impressive. It is the common sense of blogging that most people overlook. I like how she said write to one person and not to many. I usually always try to write to everyone. I want to make my articles appeal to a multitude of people but that just makes the writing really impersonal. For now on I will be writing like I'm talking to my best friend that way my readers will feel like they are more connected to my blog.

  22. Keeping your blog current as well as drawing in your readers from the get go is extremely important because if what you're writing about is droll, the reader won't be inclined to keep reading. But using a persuasive or intriguing writing style to keep them engaged is key. Blogs are just like any other form of writing as well as reading, keep the readers interested and coming back for more and you have found success.

  23. I like this article a lot, it brings in good insight on how to catch the viewers attention. I need to work on my headlines. My headlines are plain and boring. No one is going toe top and read my blogs, I need to make them more entertaining.

  24. I'm not a journalism major, however from essay papers I have learned that you need to hook your reader and that is some advice from this article. You have to get them interested! Using different and new terms can be a fun way but when you get to sounding to repetitive it does the opposite.
