  1. I think that blogging has become a huge part of social media, and is a necessity for any business. I think that not only is blogging free advertisement for businesses, but it is also a great way for one to express themselves.

  2. I think blogs are advantageous for businesses to expand their clientele. I also believe that, in the near future, employers will make blogging a requirement for hiring.

  3. I think that blogging is one form of social media that is overlooked most often, but is slowly coming more into the public eye. Because of it's ability to put a personality to your company it can become a great advertisement tool.

  4. Blogging has become a source of social media that has allowed individuals the access to express themselves. Many newspapers are having their reporters blog as well as doing their normal stories.

  5. I think blogging will become the next big thing within businesses because it's a better way to connect on a deeper level than Facebook and Twitter. I think it's good to remember just like blogs can help, they can also hurt a company as well (bad reviews).

  6. Blogging has given the media a medium to get a different message across. Since most people who keep and read blogs typical have high levels of education, then there is an opportunity to get deeper into discussion about topics than is typical for a high volume newspaper or magazine articles, and it helps created an intellectual back and forth conversation that you don't get with some of the mainstream media sources.

  7. I think that used to people just thought of blogs as a teenage diary where people just wrote about their life; now that blogs have evolved they can be and are used for so much more. I thought it was interesting that the majority of people who blog are well educated and blogs can be used to inform and influence others.

  8. I'm surprised that more men blog than women. It's hard to believe that there are 31 million bloggers in the U.S. "About 1 in 3 bloggers are Moms, and 52 percent of bloggers are parents with kids under 18 years-old in their household."

  9. The state of blogosphere 2012 means to me is another way for the media to get current or old news/information to the public in today growing technology. It also is another way for the public to be apart with the media story by putting their feedback on how they see the topic in the blog.

  10. The demographics of bloggers really surprised me. I think the purpose of a blog has evolved over the years. In the beginning I saw blogging as more a place for angsty teens to spill their guts on the internet, but the majority of bloggers are grown men and women.

  11. I believe that the blogosphere is a form of media becoming more popular as time goes on. The blog is becoming more than just a personal tool, but is now being used by multiple types of companies for promotion.

  12. The state of the blogosphere shows that there is more to social media that the popular social medias, like Facebook, Twitter, etc. There’s more to blogging that an online rant. There is such a variety of who blogs, what people blog about, and what the outcome is. I was surprised that some get such an income out of it.

  13. The state of the blogosphere says that only 13% of blogs in the US are maintained by minorities other than African-American. I was wondering if there was a way to bridge this gap in blog content. Classes like this could promote growth in those areas.

  14. I believe that according to the facts blogging is on therise among young adults in America. Although the existence of many other social media forms may take away from how much people keep up with their blog, many do in fact have a blog. Even less of a percentage make money of the blog.

  15. Why are student comments not showing up?

  16. I believe that blogging is going to be a better up and coming trend vs. Facebook and twitter just because to me a blog seems more of a professional way of speaking your mind. However it can be difficult to become a very "famous" blogger or to even get paid for it with certain circumstances.

  17. Blogging has become a major source of communication. I agree with some previous comments. I do believe that blogging will become a requirement for employees and candidates to maintain and/or obtain a position in the future. In addition, It was interesting to see that men has a higher percentage than women when blogging!

  18. I see the state of the blogoshpere having a lot of room to grow, especially in other languages, and cultures. I am excited to see how blog culture continues to grow and how people find ways to bring in extra cash.
