Your blog essay begins

By the Wednesday at 5 pm--select two possible ideas for your midterm blog essay for discussion in class Thursday. Post below.

 1. Then, you will choose a topic  and you will have completed the following sentence and commented below.

 This is an essay about (Subject) and it is interesting because ____________________. My thesis (the main point of the paper that I'm supporting with my sources) is__________________________. Post below by end of class.

 2. Also: list three probable links as sources and be ready to explain them in class  by 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14.

 Potential organization (outline) :
1. Introductory paragraph, what the subject, problem, focus is. ending with your thesis statement.
(Example: "Blogging has changed the way newspapers have covered the news.")
2. Two or three paragraphs, citing sources to back up your thesis. 
3. A short concluding paragraph
4. List of links for your sources

 Essay will be due Oct. 6. 100 points (10 percent of grade)

      This is an essay about how blogging has impacted and furthered people's personal relationships with God by providing relatable and simple devotional material for people of all stages in life. There is a blog site in particular for me that I read almost every day to do my personal devotions. The sentence above basically will be thesis!

      blogging for photography/videography

      This is an essay about Benefits of blogging for photography and it is interesting because Photographers have a place to showcase their work.
      My thesis (the reason why blogging is so important to photographers) is it gives you the opportunity to show who you are, why you are a photographer, and what value you can provide to a prospective client. It gives them a look into your motivations and how you treat your clients—info that will be important to their decision to hire you.

      This is an essay about the impact blogging has on hard news, and it is interesting because the increasing commentary and perhaps misinformation we get from blogs about serious news issues is new to this day and age. My thesis is that while blogs can be very helpful at casting a humanitarian lens on serious news topics, they can also pander to sensationalism.

      For my essay I chose to cover the money people make from blogging and how as well as the lack thereof since most people make nothing from their respected blog(s).

      This is an essay about the money in blogging and lack thereof and it is interesting because who wouldn't want to make money from blogging but the sad truth is that few actually achieve this. My thesis is, some people make great money from blogging but the sad truth is that most bloggers make nothing.

      This is an essay about how food blogs have made it easier for people to get creative and make delicious meals. I know it has made things especially easier for my mom who is always on the go. She loves following the Pioneer Woman blog.

      This is an essay about how fashion marketing and sales have evolved mostly because of both live and social media coverage of it because I have noticed a lack of creativity (except in the 70s) but now that we have tumblr, pintrest and instagram, its easy to get into fashion and easier for people to see smaller clothing lines products, along with the latest clothing styles.

      My thesis: Due to social media sites, fashion marketing and fashion sales have greatly increased over the years, allowing for the average man like you and me to stay in tuned with the latest fashion.
