  1. It was nice to learn that those working in a professional field, those working for a newspaper for example, can commit to operating a blog and finding current stories for it as well as finding current events to write about for the newspaper. Like I can barely find time to get information for a weekly blog post but these people can manage both effortlessly, its's impressive.

  2. I found on oklahomawomensbloggers.com that a blog can be used as a site to join an organization. So not only can a blog be used as a page to write journal entries but also as a website for an organization. It showed me that a blog is more versatile than I first thought

  3. I liked looking at the Oklahoma Women Bloggers blog. It's always nice to see women empowering and encouraging other women and this blog does exactly that. They have a community of women from all over the state who blog in or about Oklahoma, and feature specific bloggers every month. I really like the mission of their blog.

  4. One of the biggest things these blogs are showing me is how to effectively use multiple authors on one blog. These blogs, some by leading by example and others as a example of what to avoid, are showing me that using multiple authors on a blog can be a great thing, if done correctly. The biggest thing to remember is to make sure that all authors are frequently updating the blog with relevant and interesting content. And frequency has nothing to do with posting every day or multiple times of a day or something, frequency is all relative to how many times the other authors are posting. The blog works better when there are a good mix of content from every author dispersed throughout the entire blog and not to many bunch together by the same writer.

  5. All of these sites seem to have a different genre that they are aiming to hit. All unique in navigational function as well as content throughout. I like that there are pages created for different niches for people who are looking for blogs that are more centered around their lifestyles.

  6. From looking at the News OK website, I learned that News OK has specific blogs that they tailor specifically different subjects such as: weather, politics, etc. I think this is really effective way to reach an audience within a certain niche.

  7. What I learned from looking at one of the blogs that would be a great addition is themes. One blog in particular had themes each month. I think having a theme each month would be more engaging and anticipation from the audience for future posts. Even for the niche blogs, having a theme within that niche could give that blog more variety.

  8. I did not realize how many people blog. I thought it was a small number of people, but there is a lot. Just on that Blog Oklahoma link there is 63 pages of blogger names that you can follow. I also think it's pretty awesome you can find a place to follow other Oklahoma bloggers and join the group.

  9. I really like to explore the life and editorials in all of these blogs. It's gives me an insight about what they think about certain topic. I believe the Oklahoman has an awesome column/editorial full of fun of facts. I would love to work with the Oklahoman some day and be part of the group.

  10. I never realized that a lot of journalist have blogs themselves. I found it interesting that NewsOK had a section of different blogs and not just news stories. There are so many people in the work field that manage to have a blog along with their main job. Blogs are becoming full time jobs for some people and some businesses. Blogging has become a way of advertising in some ways and I think it will be fun to watch the blog world develop more.

  11. I found it interesting that there is pretty much a blog for everything. Including blogging (which I find hilarious). It is fascinating to see how easy it is for people to share their thoughts and ideas across the internet.

  12. I like that there are groups of blogging sites for women in every state. I read an interesting statistic in the PR portion of the Oklahoma Woman Bloggers website: *It is estimated that 36.2 million female U.S. Internet users actively participate in blogs every week with 15.1 million publishing at least one post a week and 21.1 reading and commenting at least weekly.

Blogging is a way for women (and everyone!) to connect and feel connected with not only people in their city, but people around the world!

  13. I didn't realize that it's so simple to just plug your blog into a network or blogs. Directing more traffic through the blog. If so many people spend the majority of the time on their own blog would they even feel the need to read others? I guess I'll find out if my page veiws begin to go up.

  14. Although the article states the internet is not the answer but the important information I took away is simple: more than 3 billion people worldwide use the Internet. Researchers think that there’ll be 50 billion “smart” devices on the planet within the next five years. http://journalrecord.com/2015/01/14/biz-books-blog-the-internet-is-not-the-answer-opinion/#ixzz3RMcquMbY

Eventually all communication will be done through electronic means paper communication is fading away. It will be important to become proficient in electronic communications and different types of platforms. Blogging is necessary tool for all media outlets.

It isn't easy to post a blogs worth of information on social media but providing a link to drive viewers to your blog will be key to pushing messages out.

  15. After reading some blogs from each website, one thing I noticed is I really liked the blogs that had videos and pictures and not too many big paragraphs. I feel like I am more engaged when reading them.

  16. I found it interesting that there were blogging networks. As I read through the sites I discovered that much like the real world there are communities on blogging websites and that was really cool.

The blogging for women website had a blog for every state, and that was so interesting because you can read your own state's blog and relate to women there or explore the thoughts of women around the country!

  17. I had no idea that big newspapers like The Oklahoman and The Journal Record had blogs associated with them that were written by journalists. They seem to be moving with the times and making blogging a full time position. Also, I found it interesting how many blogs are really out there. It really is impressive.

  18. I thought it was very cool that NewsOK had so many new news blogs. Starting from education, political all the way to specifics (iPhones, etc). I typically think sports, politics, financial, and education are key things for bloggers and businesses, but it was nice seeing different blogs touching on different subjects. I also thought the women and Okla. blogs were awesome! Anything that has to do with Oklahoma (blogs, movies, actors, actress) I think is nice and automatically makes for a more personable experience.

  19. I found it interesting that Blog Oklahoma had such short blog posts. I also like how Blog Oklahoma had some sort of link in almost everyone post for additional resources if you wanted to more information. I would like to incorporate that style of more frequent shorter posts with resource links into my blog posts.

  20. What I found interning is how many bloggers can blog for one site. I guess I never really thought about it that much that each website can have like 5 bloggers that blog on it each day. But it does make sense to have multiple so when people go to your site they will find many different things to read that day.

  21. I like how NewsOK blogs about all the things going on throughout the state. they are up to the date with news and information on all sorts of interesting things going on in the state that people may not know about. they keep their blogs easy and very informative to the reader. I wish it as that simple to write about sports.

  22. I found it interesting that there are so many people out there who are professional blog writers that actually want to help other writers become better. There are so many blogs dedicated to perfecting the craft of blog writing. I love that I can look up ideas to expand my blog and even make money blogging and there are so many different resources that will help.

  24. Well. I know what I want to do with my life. I want to be a professional blogger and man would that be a sweet job. I never knew how much opportunity there was in that field until I really started looking into it and these sources helped me see again, that could be a real career. I would love to look into how people like Royce Young and John Hamm got into blogging and basketball for a living.
