Answer honestly, post below, by 10 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3.
Good for five points on your final!
Comment below,
1. What was strongest part of class? Be specific.
2. What was weakest part of class? Be specific?
3. How would you improve the class?
4. What is your advice to future students of the class?
1. I think the strongest part of the class was while we were creating and finalizing our blogs. There was a lot of discussion and discovery.
ReplyDelete2. I think the weakest part was during the presentations of the blogs we wrote papers on because, while the presentation was important to the person giving it at the time, half the class was gone, the other half was doing something on their computers and not paying attention.
3. I think class could be improved my using an easier blogging system. Tumblr is easy to navigate, personalize, and the dashboard would be a lot less of a hassle to look through classmates' posts.
4. My advice for future students would be to experiment and look through a blogging site before coming to class. That way they can prepare for post layouts and be thinking of themes to commit to writing on throughout the weeks of the semester.
1. I think the strongest part was how we bounced ideas off each other for our own blogs and interacted well. It really showed a lot of creativity.
ReplyDelete2. I think the weakest would have to be not keeping up with everyone's blogs. I think it would help each other out more if maybe we had a checkup every week on each person's blogs to see how they're doing and what they're doing well and what can be improved on.
3. I would do what I said above as well as have the presentations count more as far as having it count for the audience not just the person presenting because there were always problems with attendance, though that's hard to really change.
4. Have fun and be honest! I think the worst part is when a blogger tries to be fake for the sake of gaining followers because they think people won't like them if they are a certain way. Also, be a blog reader yourself. You can always get inspiration from others.
1. I think that strongest part of the class was getting to share our creativity with each other and to get a chance to give feedback and help each person get their blog started. I liked getting to see everyone build their blog from the ground up.
ReplyDelete2. I think the weakest part of the class was taking so many classes to do presentations. I think it may have worked out better to have more presentations in one class. I liked the days we got let go early, but I think we may have had better attendance for presentations if we had full class periods of presentations instead of just a few each class.
3. To improve the class I would maybe bring in a few more speakers. People who are out blogging for a living successfully. Maybe bring in bloggers from different paths in blogging. For example, someone making money from a blog and someone who doesn't but is still very successful with their blog.
4. My advice for future students would be to find something that really interests you and blog about that. One post a week can be hard sometimes, especially if you aren't blogging about something you really love. The posts come a lot easier if you're blogging about something that truly interests you.
1. What was strongest part of class? Be specific.
ReplyDeleteNot being punished academically for writing self indulgent things that have nothing to do with journalism. If you are interested in attempting to make a profit from blogging, this class can give you examples of how to do that.
2. What was weakest part of class? Be specific?
You rapping.
3. How would you improve the class?
I would consolidate into another class with internet reporting, twitter, and social media. Take the angle of how media outlets use the written word in mediums related to the internet.
4. What is your advice to future students of the class?
Sell out.
1. What was strongest part of class? Be specific.
ReplyDeleteThe strongest part of this class was the fact that you get to just do your own thing. I really like the fact you get work at your own pace and no person is trying to stop that at all. I love the fact you get to write about what you are passionate about, and enjoy each second of it.
2. What was weakest part of class? Be specific?
The weakest part was the end was really more on presentation; which I get, but I wish I could have gain even more knowledge about blogging! So I would have focused on that more towards the end.
3. How would you improve the class?
I think it is awesome, and there really is nothing to change!
4. What is your advice to future students of the class?
Enjoy each second of this class, it is truly awesome! Enjoy your blog, and enjoy your writing!
1. What was the strongest part of the class?
ReplyDelete- I like the fact that we were able to choose any topic to discuss on our blogs. It was a great way to show everyone's personalities and interest in the class.
2. What was the weakest part of the class?
- I wish there could've been more guest speakers that has experience in blogging. Also getting more information and tips about blogging. I think the presentations were nice, it's just I didn't like how many days it took to go through them all.
3. How would you improve the class?
-Personally, I like the class the way it is. Maybe instead of blogger, I think tumblr is a lot easier to navigate.
4. What is your advice to future students of the class?
- When you create your blog, stay true to yourself. Write for yourself as if you're the only one reading it.
Even though it's way past the deadline I still think it's worth to say something more about this class:
ReplyDelete1. What was strongest part of class? Be specific.
-It develops our creativity. It's not just another class with a 200$ worth textbook when you have to learn rules and definitions. It allows us to create something that interests us, that we feel interested in. During this class we've reaserched Internet to find blogs simmilar to ours, to get ideas how to improve our blogging skills and make our blogs more professional.
2. What was weakest part of class? Be specific?
I think there could have been more presentations during each class period.
3. How would you improve the class?
Invite more professional bloggers and spend less time on presentations, even though they were very interesting we could have done more that 3 during each class period.
4. What is your advice to future students of the class?
POST THE CONTENT. I'm serious. Like, for real.
Strongest part of class:
ReplyDeleteStarting our blogs and getting the privilege to create our own blogs in whatever way we wanted.
strongest part of class: starting our blogs and getting to name and be able to create our own blogs what ever way we wanted
ReplyDeleteweakest: none
Improve: I think it would be cool to have a few more guests who have blogs come and speak
Advice: Don't think any of your work is dumb, write whatever want you and be consistent
1. What was strongest part of class? Be specific. The strongest part of class was class allowed me to open my eyes to all the opportunities blogging offers. Also, learning about all the different types of blogs.
ReplyDelete2. What was weakest part of class? Be specific? The weakest part for me was not really going over how to write for your blog. I'm not a great writer so that was a struggle for me.
3. How would you improve the class? Teaching how to write well for blog post, and more on how to create a nice and functional design.
4. What is your advice to future students of the class? Blog about something you enjoy, seriously.

The strongest part of the class:
ReplyDelete- The opportunity to be creative and think for ourselves. I always enjoy your classes because you let us form our own opinions but still inform us well.
Weakest part of the class:
- The weakest part of the class for me was trying to think of things to blog about every single week. I think for some people, depending on their blog topics, it might be easier. Also, it would be helpful if the syllabus said exactly how many blog posts was the minimum.
Improve the class:
- I think this class was run as well and effectively as possible. I would say next semester maybe encourage students to blog to form a portfolio instead of just blog about your interests. I wish I would have done a blog that I could use as a writing sample for job interviews.
Advice to future students:
- My advice to future students would be to take your blog seriously. It has improved my writing so much and taught me to write about what I'm passionate about.
