I really liked Eric's presentation over the Cocktail Chronicles. It's a really unique idea, and that's something that even my blogger stressed: it's important to not copy other blogs, but instead find something you're passionate about. Even if its alcohol!
I need to stay more consistent with posting! Obviously, if it's truly a passion, you need to be so wholeheartedly obsessed with it that you can't go more than a few days without posting a new post.
Kara pointed out that blogging is not something you do to pay the bills with. You can't start out expecting to become a professional blogger and plan to pull all sorts of cash in by doing this, but rather start out doing something you love and let the money come to you.
The Cocktail Chronicles seem very interesting to me. I am actually going to visit his blog and look at all the alcohol choices.
Advice from a Twenty Something was cool too. I think its awesome to be able to blog about whatever you want randomly. Also, I thought it was cool that she blogs for companies as a living.
Eric-- I am not quite familiar with different kinds of drinks, but i guess your chosen blog makes me understand some of the things about it that would also serve as an inspiration for a blogger to create a blog about it.
Kara-- The blog you presented is actually pretty cool. It is full with variety of things and interesting also.
I liked that Eric used other blogs to get ideas for his own. And, he mentioned the importance of keeping people on his own blog. Also, that the blogger felt that he couldn't be the only one to have the same thoughts. Way to think bigger than yourself.
Kara had so much in common with her blogger. I have seen blogs that are more commercial, so I found it interesting that her blogger did it here and there as well. Important to note that she felt the money from this venture is more pocket-change than income.
I like how Cocktail Chronicles has an index on the side of the blog so that you can choose and click on exactly what you want to read about.
Advice from a Twenty Something is a cute blog and I like how she just kind of talks about whatever she feels; both personal stories and sometimes not so personal.
cocktailchronicles.com I know that you can blog about anything. But blogging about drinking is something that I hadn't thought of. I feel like that would be an extremely popular blog.
advicefromatwentysomething.com I think it was neat how she found a blog that was related to hers. Its insane to me how she can have 40,000 new followers, there is no telling how many she has now. That's what blew my mind the most about this presentation.
I liked Eric's presentation because of the uniqueness of the blog he chose. I thought it was pretty cool that the blogger listed drinks for easier access. And taking in something from all the other blogs too, I think that's okay (it happens everyday everywhere, even if it's not noticeable).
Kara's blog was interesting. I like that she (the blogger) brands herself like that. Also, that she said to start small and not for pay. Wait until you know you have something before you begin doing it for money.
As a recent 21-er, I am very interested in The Cocktail Chronicles. I plan on visiting this website to learn more about alcohol and maybe snag a few recipes too!
Advice from a Twenty Something is cute and fun. I think blogging would be a really fun way to make some pocket change.
The Cocktail Chronicles is almost like an index for the drinking man. Clarke capitalized on an idea that begged to be blogged/accessible. I like that he found an idea that wasn't out there and put his knowledge interest to use for the "welfare" for others.
I liked the organization of the Twenty Something blog. As a twenty something female myself, it was very relatable. She does a good job with references for her audiences to relate to.
I like the idea of having blogs broken up into categories to make your site more user friendly. As in Eric's following of The Cocktail Chronicles. Also for Kara's idea of keeping your blog fresh by having several interesting topics that you could also categorize in a blog. And to stick to blogging eventually it could help you generate a possible side money.
Eric - this was a pretty unique idea for a blog. I also think it would be very popular with readers. I wish that he posted more consistently now though.
Kara - I thought it was interesting to see how similar this blog was to Kara's. I am just now beginning to see that blogging can be lie a full-time job, but it starts out really small and can be very risky to do so.
Eric - Through the Cocktail Chronicles I learned there are seasons for drinks. I was also impressed with the number of drinks he has knowledge of to write about.
Kara - I like the clean look of the blog as well as the typeface used.
Eric's presentation showed us a very informational blog. What I found most interesting was the list of different drink-related blogs. This gives readers a chance to explore their interest even deeper.
Kara's blog is appealing as far as design. The page is easy to read and there is a good use of contrast and color. Also, the advertising that gets done on her page is impressive because if she is posting about other brands, why not get paid for it.
Eric's blog he adopted was unique. I found the blog to be quite interesting. I like the the tab on the side bar that makes all types of alcohol readily available.I wish that the blogger would post more often. Other than that Great job!
Kara's blog she adopted, I could totally relate to. This blog was a "self-help" version of be young in the world. Almost every quote, or post that was presented in some way has been a part of my 20-something life. The ads on the blog were a little distracting. Her blog was clean and simple. I enjoyed reading each post.
